Fail Safe Tester
Simulation of electrical faults for reliable system validation
Fail Safe Tester simulates electrical faults such as cable breaks, short circuits, or loss of contact in a targeted and reliable manner. It allows you to test the impact of such faults on your ECUs or systems in a controlled way and to precisely analyze the behavior under realistic fault conditions.
What is Fail Safe Tester?
- Modular device to simulate typical electrical faults such as cable break, short circuit, mixed up signal lines, or loose contact
- Operates between the HIL system and one or multiple ECUs for flexible and targeted manipulation of signal lines to peripherals
- Realistic reproduction of fault conditions and systematic tests of ECU behavior
- Control via common interfaces or directly in CarMaker or RealtimeMaker
Who benefits from Fail Safe Tester?
- OEMs, suppliers, test engineers, and validation departments that want to protect their systems against electrical faults
- Development teams from the application areas ADAS, autonomous driving, vehicle dynamics, or powertrain benefit from realistic fault simulation for complex systems
How can Fail Safe Tester be used?
- Fail Safe Tester can simulate the following electrical faults:
- Interrupted signal lines (cable breaks)
- Mixed up signal lines
- Short circuits with other electric lines
- Increased contact resistance (e.g. because of corrosion)
- Leakage current (e.g. due to humidity)
- Loss of contact (loose contact)
- Flexible configuration and connection of different signal paths using relay and an internal switching logic
- Modular plug-in cards for power, tension, and switching applications expand the test functionality and adapt to specific test requirements
