EPS-in-the-Loop
Develop, test and validate electric power steering systems
Electric power steering (EPS) is a key technology for automated and autonomous driving, whether in passenger cars, trucks, or commercial vehicles. Component-based tests significantly accelerate the development processes of vehicles of all kinds and drive both functional development and calibration forward without the need for full vehicle tests. For this use case, we offer the EPS-in-the-Loop test system.
Who benefits from
EPS-in-the-Loop?
- From OEMs to suppliers, development engineers for EPS systems can use our test system individually
- Chassis developers as well as users involved in the development of driver assistance systems and automated functions
What is EPS-in-the-Loop?
EPS:
- Stands for electric power steering
- Testing of the real electric power steering/power pack (ECU with motor) without the steering column, steering rack, and steering wheel which are simulated models in CarMaker
in-the-Loop:
- Refers to both open-loop and closed-loop test procedures for the development and validation of EPS systems
- Component-based testing of EPS systems with virtual test driving on the test bench
How can EPS-in-the-Loop be used?
- Testing of real EPS systems in open- and closed-loop maneuvers
- Testing of real EPS systems in open- and closed-loop maneuvers
- Execution of comprehensive variance tests for system optimization
- Testing automated driving functions through simple integration of EPS systems
