With the official inauguration of the new Innovation Lab, IPG Automotive opens a new chapter in the history of the company. During an exclusive event welcoming guests from politics, business, media, and industry, the modern showroom was officially inaugurated. 

The official opening took place at the company’s headquarters in Karlsruhe on Thursday, July 10, which conveniently also marked the 41st foundation day of the company. In his opening speech, Steffen Schmidt, President & CEO of IPG Automotive, emphasized the importance of the Innovation Lab for the future of the company: “The Innovation Lab stands for innovation, progress, and collaborative partnerships – and for our strong conviction that future mobility must be safe and environmentally friendly.”

The new showroom presents demos and exhibits which allow visitors to experience the continuity of the product portfolio from IPG Automotive. It shows what seamless development processes can look like when virtual vehicle prototypes, scenarios, and evaluation criteria are reused across all development stages.

In future, the Innovation Lab will not only be used for customer visits and product presentations, but it will also host interactive workshops. “We don’t just want to showcase our technologies here, we want to create a space for sharing ideas, asking questions, and brainstorming together”, said Steffen Schmidt. “The Innovation Lab is not only a place where our solutions work – it is a place where they can be understood, questioned, and developed further.”

The opening of the Innovation Lab also symbolizes the role of IPG Automotive as a driving force for change in the automotive and mobility sector: “The challenges in vehicle development are enormous, from increasing software complexity to shorter development cycles to stricter safety requirements”, explained Steffen Schmidt.  “It takes more than just innovative technologies, the industry needs holistic and intelligent strategies to successfully shape this transformation.”
