Accelerated Validation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems with Mixed Reality

More stringent Euro NCAP and homologation requirements are increasing the effort needed to validate modern ADAS. Mixed reality based on the vehicle-in-the-loop method combines real-world vehicle motion with a virtual environment, enabling reproducible, safe and efficient testing. In this article, together with Kempten University of Applied Sciences and MdynamiX, we show how CarMaker supports this test setup as the simulation environment and explore its potential for full vehicle validation.
